Russ Robinson

Chief Executive Officer

Russ Robinson has over 30 years of experience in the zinc recycling industry.

In 2006, Robinson founded Steel Dust Recycling (SDR), which developed, owned and operated a Waelz Kiln steel dust recycling plant in Alabama, USA, that had an annual processing capacity of 110,000 tons of steel dust. In 2009, Robinson successfully sold SDR to Zinc Nacional, the largest EAF dust recycler in Mexico.

Between 2002 and 2004, Robinson served as chief executive officer of a $700 million French-German publicly-owned metals company, which specialized in zinc-lead operations. Robinson financially and operationally restructured the company, which was in dire financial condition.

Between 1979 and 2002, Robinson was the chief executive officer of U.S. Zinc in Houston, Texas, USA. The company was a diversified metals company operating six zinc-recycling plants that generated 100,000 tons of secondary market products and $250 million in revenues. Robinson was responsible for acquiring four zinc oxide companies and successfully merging them into the second largest worldwide zinc oxide producer. Robinson also bought, rationalized and sold multiple zinc recycling facilities. In 1998, the company was sold to Imco Recycling Inc., a NYSE company.

Robinson is a graduate of Vanderbilt University and is involved in many philanthropic causes.
