GLOBAL STEEL DUST TO SPEND 1,050 MILLION BAHT TO BUILD THAILAND’S FIRST STEEL DUST RECYCLING PLANT

Global steel dust will spend 1,050 million baht to build its first steel dust recycling plant and the project has been under consideration for approval and industrial promotional privilege by the Board of Investment.

Russ Robinson, GSD’s CEO, said the demand for steel dust recovery and recycling is currently high and will be increasing as the steel industry in Thailand continues to grow. Global Steel Dust will invest 1,050 million baht to set up the first production facilities in Thailand in the Amata City Industrial Estate in Rayong. This plant will have the capacity to recycle up to 110,000 tons of steel dust per year and produce up to 40,000 tons of Waelz zinc oxide per year.

He said the construction will be completed within one year. The plant was designed for the production capacity to double to deal with the steel industrial growth in Thailand and the company will not have to import the steel dust from abroad.
